For some, counseling is an important step in healing and in cultivating a life of meaning, contentment, and connection. It takes some courage to begin this process because it can be uncomfortable. A benefit of counseling is that we hold that discomfort together. We explore it together. We learn about it together. This can be a powerful process. Some may find relief, invigoration, love, inspiration, or insight.

I like to remind people that we are part of nature. Any act of personal healing, growth, or deepening is an act of care not only for yourself but for the natural world. Carl Jung shares a similar sentiment, writing: "If a person only learns to deal with their own shadow, they have done something real for the world."
